Hurstwic members provide demonstrations and presentations at museums, universities, schools, historical societies, and other cultural institutions.

Viking Sword and Shield Introductory Class

Was your last Viking raid unsuccessful? Have you been bullied by a berserk? Are you just curious about how Vikings used their weapons? Would you like to learn some of these techniques for yourself?

Join us for a class offered by the Higgins Armory Sword Guild, at the Higgins Armory Museum. The class consists of four two-hour sessions on the Saturdays of February 20, 27, and March 6, and 13. More information about the course is available on the Guild website.

Demonstration of Viking Age arms, armor, and combat techniques at Higgins Armory Museum at 2PM

Normally, we present a live demonstration of Viking age combat techniques on the 3^rd (and where applicable, 5^th) Saturday of each month at 2PM at Higgins Armory Museum, part of the regular Weekend at Higgins program. Occasionally, scheduling changes prevent us from offering a demonstration, in which case we offer a presentation on Viking age weapons, instead.
